Overview
The University of Strasbourg's Jardin des sciences brings together initiatives dedicated to sharing scientific and technical culture across the Alsace region.
Located in the heart of the Neustadt historic campus, the Jardin des sciences forms a vibrant cultural hub where museums, gardens and a planetarium come together.
As a key player in science and cultural mediation in Strasbourg and across the region, the Jardin des sciences sparks curiosity and encourages knowledge sharing with all audiences through a rich cultural and educational programme.
By creating spaces for dialogue between science and society, it connects researchers with local communities, fostering encounters that allow everyone to learn from one another.
Committed to professional standards in conservation, it coordinates the preservation and public accessibility of the university’s historical heritage.
Finally, as a contributor to professional development, it offers training in science communication and culture for all professions involved in sharing and teaching science. In 2023, more than 103,500 people took part in its activities. This included 83,000 members of the general public, 18,900 pupils and accompanying adults, and 615 trained professionals. A total of 594 scientists were involved in these projects.
