Impact of Hypoxia and Microenvironment in Tumor Progression and Response to Treatment. Translational Approaches and Epidemiology - EA 3430

Research focus

The unit is engaged in developping research projects which expected benefits will be both fundamental and applied research in order to establish a continuum between the bedside and the research laboratory. These projects will be :

  • Basic research : understanding the mechanisms of carcinogenesis and tumor progression
  • Translational research : identification / validation of markers prognostic / predictive of therapeutic response, understanding of mechanisms of action of therapeutic agents (drugs and ionizing radiation) and escape mechanisms, evaluation of new therapeutic modalities on relevant models and protocols transferable to the clinic
  • Observational clinical research : collection of biological resources, tumor samples
  • Epidemiological research and development of statistical methods in cancer
