Summary
Our mission
The University of Strasbourg Foundation aims to support and promote the activities of the University, Strasbourg's university hospital and their partners. It contributes to furthering their autonomy, attractiveness, accessibility and creativity as well as to their influence in the socio-economic world. Raising fundings is the Foundation's main activity, in collaboration with the Foundation for Research in Chemistry. It focuses on four areas of development:
- developping excellence in research and education
- increasing interdisciplinarity
- furthering the university's openness
- preserving the university's historic and scientific heritage
Fundraising campaign
The 2010-2014 fundraising campaign was the most successful campaign ever lead by a French university: it managed to raise 22,5 million euros, with an initial target of 20 million. This success was heavily dependant on the significant mobilisation of businesses, private individuals and the alumni community.
A range of projects have been funded since 2010:
- Research programmes
- Training programmes and facilities
- Scholarships
- Facilities and support for students with disabilities
- Protection and renovation of heritage buildings and collections
