The “Studium” - the central campus' future student learning centre - is planned to open in 2019. The 6,630 sqm premises will host a next-generation-library and student services, in place of the Blaise Pascal library.
This project is part of the campus development programme: the facility will be dedicated to knowledge, document resources, printed and digital books, as well as to the campus’ cultural life and student associations. The name “Studium” is a nod to the University’s humanist roots: it refers both to a place of study and to the action of studying. The project received €30.2 M in financing from the State, the department’s council, the Alsace-Champagne Ardennes-Lorraine region and Strasbourg Eurometropole.
