On 2 and 3 October, the University of Strasbourg hosted a delegation from the University of Okinawa, its partner since 2010.
The University of Okinawa signed a first cooperation agreement with Strasbourg's Institute of Political Science (IEP) in 2010, which was extended to an agreement with Unistra as a whole in 2011. The purpose of the visit was to go back over the partnership activities that took place over the past 4 years and to define future directions. The discussion mostly focused on ways to develop research collaboration in chemistry and in health and life sciences.
The delegation was composed of professors and deans, and was headed by Professor Masura Aki, Executive Director and Vice-President in charge of international relations at the University of Okinawa. They were received by the President of the University of Strasbourg, the International Relations Office, the IEP and the Department of Japanese Studies.
