Anna Bricout, 2nd year engineering student at the European School of Chemistry, Polymers and Materials Science (ECPM), Esteban Lobato, 2nd year Chemistry student at the IUT Robert Schuman and Marie Reulier, doctorate student at the Institute of Chemistry and Processes for Energy, Environment and Health (ICPEES) have been selected to be part of the 6 teams competing in the Chemical World Tour.
The Chemical World Tour was created in 2010 by the Chemical Industry Union (UIC) and the Chemistry House Foundation with the aim of getting students acquainted with the chemical industry and its innovations. This year’s theme will be ‘chemistry and energy’.
Teams composed of a chemistry student and a journalism student will travel through France and the world to report on the subject, assisted by a team from Capa agency. The reports will then be posted online and voted on by web users.
This 4th Chemical World Tour intends to show the role played by the chemical industry in energetic transition. The reporters will investigate this role within companies which are working to find innovative solutions to the energy challenge. Anna, Esteban and Marie will each team up with a journalism student from a different French university and will respectively report on lithium batteries at Arkema’s ( China), CO2-recycling plastic at Bayer’s ( Germany) and sustainable construction and energetic efficiency at BASF’s ( Germany).
The teams will post updates of their journey on Facebook and Twitter.
