Writing Europe Residency - Louise Weiss Prize

Writing Europe and the Louise Weiss Prize for Literature are a joint cultural and literary initiative sponsored by the University of Strasbourg. This project combines a writer in residence with a writing competition open to all students of the university. The writer in residence for two months sponsors the literary prize, participates in literary events on campus and in the city, gives a series of lectures at the National University Library, and conducts writing workshops.

This initiative contributes to making the University of Strasbourg a laboratory for the European experience by giving a voice to thinkers and writers whose careers cross borders, and by engaging students in the reflective and creative act. It encourages translation between European languages and thus contributes to the training of students and the development of dialogue between cultures. Finally, it fosters debate within the University of Strasbourg and among the public of Strasbourg on the challenges of contemporary European culture.

Offered by the Faculty of Languages and the Faculty of Letters of the University of Strasbourg, and the National University Library of Strasbourg, Writing Europe - Louise Weiss Prize is sponsored by the University Service for Cultural Action with the support of the Drac Grand Est, the Fondation Presses Universitaires de Strasbourg, in collaboration with the University Library Service
