A further step towards the first European University On 9 December 2015, the Universities of Basel, Freiburg, Haute-Alsace, Strasbourg and the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology signed the founding documents for the trinational European Campus. 9 December Paris terror attacks: the University in mourning The University of Strasbourg expresses its solidarity and support for the victims, their families and others affected by the barbaric crimes perpetrated in Paris on 13 November. 14 November Unistra calls for solidarity with refugee students Refugee students wishing to enrol in a study programme or attend French as a foreign language courses are eligible to register at Unistra. The University will provide them with support and assistance throughout the process. 13 October University Park inaugurated on Central Campus After two years of work, the new campus park was inaugurated on 17 September and renamed "Parc de l'Université". 17 September Pinar Selek is back at the University of Strasbourg Turkish sociologist Pinar Selek, who was wrongly accused of being involved in the 1998 Istanbul Spice Bazaar explosion, is back to Strasbourg as a postdoctoral researcher. 1st September Opening of the International University House The International University House brings together a wide range of services dedicated to incoming international students, researchers and staff. The facility includes 170 modern and fully furnished studio flats and a reception centre providing assistance to international visitors at the University. September ERC Scientific Council holds first plenary meeting in France at Unistra The 51st plenary meeting of the European Research Council (ERC) was held at the University of Strasbourg from 1 to 3 June. 1st June Conference of University Rectors : debating the challenges of the digital era Over 300 participants attended the Conference of University Rectors at the University of Strasbourg from 27 to 29 May. The symposium focused on the development of digital practices and their impact on society and on the university. 27 May Students from across the world discuss Europe at Unistra From 19 to 24 April, the University of Strasbourg hosted the 6th Student World Forum of the Academic Consortium for the 21st Century, in partnership with the University of Freibourg. 19 April Unistra.fr goes English An updated and extended version of the University’s website in English is now online. Contents have been updated, reorganized and enhanced to make all information easily accessible. 27 March A new leading-edge technological environment The Centre for Integrative Biology (CBI) opened on Friday 23 January. This state-of-the-art research centre is part of the Institute of genetics and of molecular and cellular biology (IGBMC), and was funded by the Alsace region and the state. 26 January
