Non-EU students: countries using the CEF procedure

The CEF procedure (Centre pour les Etudes en France) offers guidance and support at every step in the admission process, from application to enrollment. It is effective in 35 countries (see the list at the bottom of the page). If you are from one of these 35 countries, please follow the guidelines below.

First year of undergraduate study

Applicants to the first year of an undergraduate degree must fill out a preliminary admission request (DAP - Demande d'Admission Préalable):

  • If you are not French, don't hold the French baccalauréat but you currently live in France: fill out a form entitled dossier vert and send it to your first choice of university, along with the required supporting documents.

Important information

What is the DAP and who does it apply to?

  • The DAP (Demande d'Admission Préalable) has to be made before applying to university
  • It concerns Non-EU applicants who do not hold a French or European Baccalaureate and who are entering the first year of a Bachelor's degree

2nd or 3rd year of an undergraduate degree / Master's degree

Find out more about the procedure on Campus France's website. Please note that this process is mandatory in order to obtain a student visa.

Good to know

Please note:

  • If French is not your country's official language, you will be required to take a French Language Proficiency Test
