Jean-Pierre Sauvage and his colleagues James Fraser Stoddart and Bernard Feringa are rewarded for their research notably the development of dynamic molecular systems: molecular machines or motors with controllable movements. 28 September Inauguration of the Franco-Azerbaijan University Initiated by the French government and piloted by the University of Strasbourg, the Franco-Azerbaijan University has opened its doors on 15 September 2016. Contents have been updated, reorganised and developed to make all information easily accessible to German-speaking students, researchers and partners. 29 April Excellence initiative: The University of Strasbourg on track to achieve its ambitions On Friday 29 April, the University of Strasbourg’s IdEx project was endorsed and praised by an international assessment board. It marks a milestone in the recognition of the University’s excellence at international level and guarantees additional means and funding for its further development. 17 February Campus development: new learning centre to open in 2019 The “Studium” - the central campus' future student learning centre - is planned to open in 2019. The 6,630 sqm premises will host a next-generation-library and student services, in place of the Blaise Pascal library.
